Juveniles Arrested for Making Bottle Bombs
(Canton Township, Ohio) – Two Stark County Juveniles are facing multiple charges after what law enforcement refers to as bottle bombs were located in Canton Township.
According to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 8th, dispatchers received a call from a resident on 25th Street SE, Canton Township about a suspicious device located on her property.
Deputies note that while on the scene, they received a separate report of a resident on 24th Street SE who also located a similar device.
The Summit County Bomb Squad was called to the scene to inspect and safely remove the devices. Investigators confirmed the bottle bombs consisted of household cleaner designed to create a chemical reaction that causes a loud sound. Neither device went off on the scene.
Two juveniles were arrested, and both have been charged with Possession of a Deadly Ordinance (F2), Obstruction (F5), and Inducing Panic (M1).
