Film Festival to Benefit Starlight Schools
(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – The second annual Tuscarawas Valley Film Festival is gearing up to begin this week.
The festival is set to begin screening movies Thursday, September 20th at the Quaker Cinema and will continue for three consecutive Thursdays: September 27th, October 4th and October 11th.
Officials explain that two indie-style films will be shown each evening starting at 6:30 p.m. This Thursday the films that will be featured will be “Perfectly Normal for Me” and “The Drummer and the Keeper.” Next week will be “A Murder in Mansfield” and a second film that has yet to be selected. The third week of the festival will feature “To Err is Human” and ‘The Endless.” And, the fourth and final week will include a selection of short films including Ric Swartzwelder’s “The Least of These” and Josh Young’s ‘Mr. Pederson.”
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. each night Lockport Brewery in Bolivar will offer a selection of beverages for sale and Park Street Pizza in Sugarcreek will have pizza’s available as well. Non-ticket holders may buy the food as well.
Single evening tickets are $12. VIP passes, which provide access to all four nights of the festival, are $36. All proceeds from the event will go to Starlight Schools to help fund a basketball court. Donations will also be accepted at the event. For more information visit quakercinema.com.
