JFS & T-4-C to Host Share-A-Christmas Quarter Auction

(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – JFS is Gearing Up for the third annual Share-A-Christmas Quarter Auction.

The auction will raise funds for the T-4-C office, which coordinates the purchase of toys, clothing, and food baskets for those who apply for assistance from the program around Christmas. The toys go to children up to 12-years-old and food baskets can go to anyone eligible, not just those with children. Additionally, clothing vouchers are available to families with children.

Share-A-Christmas was actually founded in 1974, but it grew so quickly T-4-C employees were unable to continue on their own and that’s when JFS stepped in to form a partnership. T-4-C provide the guidance and coordinates all necessary steps to make the event possible for hundreds of local families.

In order to benefit from the program, people must apply for assistance through an application process. “Families don’t have to be considered low income, they could just be facing a hardship at this time,” noted Joyce Barker, JFS Administrative Assistant. “It could be an expensive car repair, unexpected bill, medical issue, layoff [or something else.]” The number of individuals accepted into the program depends on how much money is raised throughout the year.
