Health Department to Offer Drive Thru Flu Clinic
(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – The Tuscarawas County Health Department is inviting the public to participate in the upcoming drive-thru flu clinic.
Officials will be conducting a drive-thru flu vaccine clinic on Saturday, October 27th, from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. This clinic will allow patients to receive their flu vaccine without ever leaving their car. The drive-thru clinic will be held at the Tuscarawas County Health Department located at 897 East Iron Ave. Dover, Ohio. Drivers should enter the clinic off the Boulevard using Clubview Drive.
Regular dose and High dose flu vaccine will be available, while supplies last, for ages 3 and up. No infant or pneumococcal vaccines will be available. The vaccine will be the quadrivalent and contains:
- A/Michigan/45/2015 (H1N1)pdm09–like virus,
- A/Singapore/INFIMH-16-0019/2016 (H3N2)–like virus; and
- B/Colorado/06/2017–like virus (Victoria lineage)
- B/Phuket/3073/2013–like virus (Yamagata lineage)
Please bring your photo ID and Medical Insurance Card. If no insurance, a flat fee of $39.00 for a regular dose and $75.00 for high dose will be payable with cash or check.
Vaccine Consent Forms can be completed, online, prior to the event at http://www.tchdnow.org/clinic-forms.html. The forms will also be available the day of the event.
Influenza is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs. The first and most important step in preventing the flu is to get a flu vaccine each year.
