(East Canton, Ohio) – Troops work to collect food to help those in need this Thanksgiving Holiday!
Daisy Girl Scout Troop 60296 worked with Taylor Stewart, East Canton’s Family Support Services specialist on October 23rd and November 6th with the Osnaburg Local School district’s annual Stuff the Turkey food drive.
They helped by sorting the donated food and getting it prepared to go to the East Canton Community Cupboard to help provide Thanksgiving boxes of food for community members in need. All nine members earned their Community Service badge from the experience, in addition the girls earned valuable experience in life.
By volunteering their time, the girls learned the impact they can have in their own community by just a simple act of service. Troop Co-Leader Megan Stansell said, “Daisy troop enjoyed their time learning what it means to help those in need. This was their first community event as a troop and we look forward to working within the community to help out again whenever possible.”
