(Canton, Ohio) – The Canton City School District announces ongoing dedication to providing a culture that promotes and maintains physical and emotional well-being.
School officials recently took to Facebook to discuss the focus and announce recent enhancements to their approach to addressing student behavior.
In the Facebook post, officials explain the new Positive Behavior and Expectations Framework is the result of a year of work and input from hundreds of stakeholders. The goal, according to the post, of the Framework is to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for our students and staff and to guarantee the most instructional hours for everyone.
“We hope you will take some time to read about these new guidelines before they go into effect January 7th,” they explained. “This document will help everyone-students, staff, administrators, and family members – understand their rights and responsibilities, and the important role they play in the success of creating a positive learning environment.”
The post goes on to note that the Framework is designed to be a guiding document that will be reviewed and edited as the process continues. Those with questions are encouraged to contact their building principal or if they cannot access the Framework, to contact the school office for a hard copy and it will be sent home with the student.
