Local Program Offered to Support Children in Homes of Family and Friends

(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – The Kinship Permanency Incentive (KPI) program was created to support children in the homes of family and friends who have committed to caring for them when birth parents cannot.

The KPI program provides cash payments for children in the legal custody of the kinship provider.  If you qualify, the program consists of 8 payments dispersed once every six months.  The initial payment is $525.00 per child.  The other 7 payments are $300 each per child.  After qualifying initially, a new application will be sent every six months for redetermination until all 8 payments are received.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. You must have court ordered LEGAL CUSTODY of a minor child, obtained after July 1, 2005.

*A copy of the court entry is required with the initial application.

  1. Complete and submit a KPI application and attach required documents (court entry & proof of income)
  2. All Adults residing in the home must complete fingerprint background checks.
  3. Qualify Financially:

Family Size of 2 – household income not to exceed $50,730 per year

Family Size of 3 – household income not to exceed $63,990 per year

Family Size of 4 – household income not to exceed $77,250 per year

Family Size of 5 – household income not to exceed $90,510 per year

Family Size of 6 – household income not to exceed $103,770 per year

Family Size of 7 – household income not to exceed $117,030 per year

Family Size of 8 – household income not to exceed $130,290 per year

Each additional person add – $13,260

*Income Documentation required with each application

  1. A home visit may be required if a worker has never been to the home.
