Mother alleges racial bullying took place at local school

(Jackson Township, Ohio) – A mother in Stark County has asked for an investigation after allegations of a bullying incident involving a biracial student.

The incident allegedly took place at Jackson Memorial Middle School.  Reports indicate the student was with a friend in the school’s cafeteria when they were surrounded by 10 boys. The report explains the boys said they were “the wall,” and “this is MAGA country and that all black people should die.” The report was filed with the Jackson Township Police Department.

Officials explain the students involved in the incident attend sixth grade at the school. Students are being interviewed. Superintendent Chris DiLoreto said in a public statement, “school safety continues to be a priority at Jackson Schools.”

Police note there is was a school security camera that captured footage from the cafeteria, and it is being reviewed as part of the investigation.

The child’s mother took to Facebook about the incident earlier this week. She explained that her child has been bullied in the past, but not to the extent that occurred most recently.

She noted that the school notified her that an incident had occurred, and her child gave her additional details when returning home from school. That’s when she called the police.

No further details have been released at this time.
