Hunger: The Bus Stops Here at Lake Local April 22-25, 2019

(Lake Township, Ohio) – Teachers, administrators, and staff at Lake Local Schools know first-hand the impact hunger has on children in schools.

In classrooms across the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank’s eight-county service area, nearly one in five children will face hunger this year.

Your local food bank, in partnership with its extensive network of food pantries, hot meals sites, shelters, and other hunger-relief programs, works diligently to meet these needs and provide hope to the families struggling with hunger. The food bank distributes more than 125,000 pounds of food each day, the equivalent of 104,000 meals.

These families are why we are asking the families of Lake Local Schools to participate in our food collection challenge – Hunger: the Bus Stops Here!

Every gift matters.  One dollar donated equals four meals.  One meal equals 1.2 pounds.

These collections truly build an atmosphere of fun and philanthropy for young minds and willing hearts. Together we’ve set goals for schools in our region to collect enough food to provide 60,000 meals!

Lake Local Schools thanks our parents, local businesses, and residents for your continued support and commitment to our children and our community!
