Spring Homeschool Day at Historic Zoar Village Takes Students Back in Time

(Zoar, Ohio) – The lives of religious Separatists in 19th century Zoar will come to life for homeschool students when Historic Zoar Village holds Spring Homeschool Day April 26th.

Getting children interested in history can sometimes be a challenge, but Historic Zoar Village has been doing it for many years, through field trips, special event-themed school days and homeschool days. Spring Homeschool Day uses the premise that spring has arrived and the people of Zoar are getting ready for a busy season.

Students learn what life was like for the people of Zoar during the 1800s through interactive demonstrations and activities such as butter churning, bread baking, tinsmithing and more.

Historic Zoar Village also conducts a Civil War School Day in September and many field trips throughout the year. Early bird registration price for the event is $5 per student. One adult per group is free with admission for additional adults available at $7 each.

Reservations are required by Friday, April 19 at 5:00 pm in order to secure a lower admission; rates will rise after the deadline. For reservations, call 330-874-3011.
