How Parents Can Reduce Children’s Challenging Behaviors

(Ohio) – A free, online educational opportunity will soon be available for parents and caregivers.

An upcoming educational webinar focuses on helping parents avoid the ‘flip out’ and to instead ‘flip it!’

The webinar presented by Rachel Wagner, MSW, is offered to parents interested in finding a way to stay calm, be consistent and support children (ages 3-8) when they are being a challenge.

FLIP IT® is a strategy that offers a simple, kind, and commonsense process to address children’s challenging behavior, according to Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health-Center for Resilient Children. The four steps of FLIP IT can be easily remembered using the mnemonic of FLIP, which stands for F – Feelings, L – Limits, I – Inquiries and P – Prompts.

FLIP IT is nothing new, but officials explain that it turns what works into a strategy that is easy to remember and easy to use in real-life challenging situations. Both parents and teachers have been using the FLIP IT strategy with great results for many years, but we know parents and guardians can’t always find time to attend a live workshop.

Which is why we’re inviting them to our free, one-hour webinar specifically designed for parents! Learn the FLIP IT steps and getting started changing behavior.

The free webinar will be held from 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2019. Registration and more information can be found here.
