ODOT funds a grant to local city for added safety

(Dover, Ohio) – The Ohio Department of Transportation recently announced a grant to the city of Dover.

According to ODOT officials, the funds will be utilized with the purpose of improving safety related to a child’s journey to school. ODOT is ready to provide up to $154,362 to aide in the design and construction of new sidewalks along Betscher Avenue and along East 7th Street between Betscher Avenue and North Crater Avenue.

Officials add that the program serves as an incentive for a healthier lifestyle encouraging students to walk or ride their bikes to school. Funds will become available in the fiscal year of 2022.
