ZOAR, Ohio –10/10/19– Historic Zoar Village is taking reservations for their annual Ghost Tours this October. Dates for tours are October 18, 19, 25 and 26.
This year, the village is offering three options for those who want to hear all about the ghosts of Zoar. “We want to be able to offer a variety of choices to our guests, whether they wish to walk or take a wagon ride,” says Tammi Shrum, site director for Historic Zoar Village.
The traditional Walking Tour takes visitors inside Zoar’s historic museums to hear tales of the paranormal that occurred in each building and were either handed down through the generations or experienced more recently by Zoar tour guides and staff. Haunted Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides take the visitor through the village atop a wagon with a “ghost” guide, who delivers the stories in a first-person manner.
Revived this year is the Tales From the Front Porch tour. Guests stroll through the village, stopping at various residences and hearing ghoulish tales from that home delivered by the residents themselves.
Haunted Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides will be held on October 18 and 19 only and leave every half hour from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm. Tales From the Front Porch are scheduled for October 25 and 26 only, leaving every half hour from 7:00 pm-8:30 pm. Walking Ghost Tours will be held on all four dates and leave every fifteen minutes from 6:30-8:00 pm. All tours last between 45 and 60 minutes.
Reservations for these tours are required and must be made in advance. Space is limited, so reserving early is recommended. Due to the frightening nature of these tours, they are not recommended for small children. To make a reservation, or for more information, please call 330-874-3011 or 800-262-6195..
