(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – Book drops, no overdue fines, virtual programs, and more.

The Tuscarawas County Library System is moving into phase 2 of its reopening plan at all five of the library’s locations. Branches have been serving the community during the pandemic by offering eBooks and audio-books, a virtual help desk on the website, and curbside pickup. Officials say while those options will still be available, they are now opening the library with limited hours.

Limited Hours – Each branch will be open to the public with limited hours. Community members are encouraged to visit the library’s website or call the nearest location for hours. All library patrons will be asked to wear a mask when visiting the facility. Masks will be provided to those who do not have one.

Book Drops – Items will only be able to be returned through the book drops outdoors and no overdue fines will be applied. Once materials have been returned, they will be kept in quarantine for 72 hours in compliance with CDC guidelines before they are checked in.

Limited Capacity – Occupancy will be limited in order to comply with social distancing guidelines. Signs and other markings will be throughout the facility.

Limited Computer Use – Computers have been spaced six feet apart and they can be used up to 30 minutes at a time per session. Additionally, a mask must be worn while individuals are using them.

Virtual Programming – All virtual programs will continue and individuals can learn more information by visiting the library’s website.
