Ashland County Fair opens next week

(Ashland, Ohio) – It may look different than in years past, but the Ashland County Fair will go on!

The fair will be missing a few traditional elements including no grandstand entertainment, rides for the kids, tractor pull, or demolition derby. The listed components of the event have been prohibited by state mandates from Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health. Restrictions continue to be upheld amid ongoing concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, state officials are permitting the junior fair events to move forward in an attempt to acknowledge their hard work.

2020 marks the 169th Ashland County Fair, which will officially open on Sunday, September 20th. The fair, located at the county fairgrounds along Claremont Avenue, will be four days instead of seven.
