New Philadelphia Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1445 is announcing the 2020-2021 Voice of Democracy scholarship program.
Essays must be three to five minutes long and recorded on a flas drive or audio CD. According to officials, the top three entries at Post 1445 will be awarded scholarships. Awards will be $1,500 for first place, $1,000 for second place and $500 for third place. Additionally, the first place winning entry will also be sent ot the district level.
This year’s theme is, “Is this the Country the Founders Envisioned?” Tuscarawas County students in grades 9th through 12th who are enrolled in a public, private, or parochial high school or home study program are eligible to apply.
Applications can be picked up in person at Post 1445, 441 Park Avenue, NW in New Philadelphia. Intersted individuals can also call 330-364-9973 to request a mailed application.
