(Dover, Ohio) – Children of all ages will be able to take a trip around the world by going to Dover Public Library’s Children’s Department beginning November 16.
The Children’s Department will showcase Christmas traditions in different countries around the world and also share Hanukkah and Kwanzaa displays. “We want the children to be able to come in and see how people in other countries celebrate the holidays,” says Jennifer Gardner Children’s Department Manager.
The kids will be able to fill out a passport application to be displayed in the department and will receive a passport book that they can take home and decorate which will be stamped by staff.
Children will also receive a small booklet on Christmas traditions in different countries and a special bookmark to mark the occasion. “Along with Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, we will have displays from Japan, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Liberia, and the United States,” added Gardner. The display will run November 16- December 31 during the hours of operation at the library which are Monday- Friday 10 am-6 pm and Saturday 10 am-2 pm.
