NPR published an article earlier this year that helps children better understand the coronavirus. According to the NPR story, the comic is based on a radio story by NPR education reporter Cory Turner. In the interview, Turner asked experts about a variety of things kids may want to know about the illness. At the time of the interview, in February, COVID-19 was still primarily overseas in China.
