This pandemic isn’t dampening the holiday spirit in North Canton

(North Canton, Ohio) – Despite the threat posed by COVID-19, the community’s 101st-holiday kickoff will light up the city.

Last year marked a century for North Canton‘s tradition that involved the community gathering downtown to celebrate the start of the holiday season. The North Canton Public Library, the North Canton Area Chamber of Commerce, and the North Canton Jaycees are dedicated to continuing that tradition. This year’s event will be transformed into the Holiday Drive North Canton.

It’s all happening on Saturdays December 5th, December 12th, and December 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The tree at Bitzer Park at North Main and East Maple streets will also be lit for the first time this season during the event on December 5th.

The city encourages families to get into their cars and drive along Main Street between Seventh Street SE to Waterside Drive SE where they can see a variety of light displays, holiday decorations, costumed characters, and performers. Additionally, the library will have themed to-go kits featuring treats and activities that will correspond with the event. Officials ask that folks pre-register.
