When you can’t go and give your family love this holiday season, showcase the love in your home with this DIY home project.

This DIY Home Project is brought to you by Novosel Real Estate LTD.

This holiday season is unlike any most of us have been through. With being preventive in stopping the spread of COVID, most of us will not see our extended family in person. This leads to a lot of friends and families turning to cards to spread their holiday cheer.

If you’re receiving more Christmas cards this year than before, you might not have a way to showcase them. After you’re done reading this DIY, you’ll have a quick and stylish display.

Here’s what you need:

  • Ribbon, String, or Twine
  • Hoop*
  • Clothespins
  • Glue (Hot or Superglue)
  • Extra Decorations
*Depending on the size of your wall space, your hoop can be a big embroidery hoop or even a spray-painted hula hoop. Do what’s best for your home.

The first thing you’ll need is to secure the hoop you want to use. After that, make sure it’s the color you want before you start gluing. If you choose to use smaller sized hoops, it might be fun to use more than one and do multiple colors.

Next, get the ribbon, string, or twine you’ve picked out. Before gluing, lay out where you’d want your strings to go across. It might be helpful to have a Christmas card in hand to measure the distance between the strings. Once you figure out how many strings you want crossing through the center, it’s time to begin gluing.

To make sure your string is secure, put glue on the inside and outside of the hoop. Wrap the string once or twice around it, then stretch it over to the other side. Repeat the process of putting glue on both sides and wrapping the string around.

By doing this, you’ll be sure that the joy the holiday cards are bringing you, stays put.

At this point, you’ll want to add any extra decorations if you have them. Garland, signs, and bows would look adorable. Make sure to glue them down.

Now comes the fun part.

Use clothespins to hang your Holiday Cards. You can even decorate the clothespins by painting them or adding bows too. Just put a nail or command strip in the wall to hang your display. When you get more cards, just add more clothespins.

Soon your house will showcase all the love, safely, this holiday season.
