New school district levy would actually save homeowners money

(Jackson Township, Ohio) – Jackson Local Schools is moving forward with a plan to place a substitute levy on the ballot in May.

The 5.7 mill Substitution Levy would replace a current 6.4 mill levy that is set to expire in May. The levy, if approved, would run for five years beginning in 2021 and through 2025.

The current 6.4 mill levy, again set to expire this May, costs the owner of a $100,000 home approximately $196 annually. It was passed in 2011. Passage of the proposed Substitution Levy would be a lower cost to homeowners decreasing that cost example to roughly $174 per year.
