(Canton, Ohio) – The Stark County Hunger Task Force (SCHTF) annual food drive is now underway.
The Food for Thought food drive collects needed items for the task force’s Backpacks for Kids program, which provides a bag filled with four meals and two snacks over the weekends for all elementary school-aged students in the National School Lunch Program. The drive continues now through September 21st.
Officials noted food in high demand includes instant oatmeal, individually boxed cereal, juice boxes, microwave meals and granola bars. Donations must be nonperishable and individually packaged.
Donations can be dropped off at the Ken Weber Community Campus at Goodwill, 408 Ninth St. SW, or officials can make arrangements with donors for pickup by contacting SCHTF. For more information, contact Assistant Director, Stephanie Sweany at stephanie@StarkHunger.org.
