“Turn the other cheek.” “Be the bigger person.” “Just walk away.” All common pieces of advice given by parents in an effort to teach their kids right from wrong.  But, what if you’re actually doing more harm than good? “A child just like anyone else, has a right to defend themselves.” This according to Brian Muntean, a police sergeant in a small city in Ohio with nearly 20 years on the job.

Now, Muntean says that doesn’t mean encourage violence, but rather to teach your child how to protect themselves from it. He explains that police will never arrest a child for fighting back.
