Dover Library Event “Behinds the Scenes” with the PAC -Tuscarawas County

Dover Library takes A PEEK BEHIND THE CURTAIN at the PAC

Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes during a Broadway show or concert?  A few of the “magic makers” at the Performing Arts Center will be at the Dover Library on Monday, September 26 at 6:30 PM to talk about what it’s like to work backstage and how they make sure the show ALWAYS goes on.

David Mitchell, General Manager of the Performing Arts Center, and Bart Cannizzaro, Production Manager, as well as Jane Deitrick and other crew members will be here to reveal the efforts that make the magic happen. Mitchell recognizes and  thanks the many people working behind the scenes to synchronize all the moving parts into one amazing performance. Everything has to be meticulously orchestrated: booking, advertising, ticketing, load-ins and load-outs, lighting, sound, props, costumes, set, make-up and so much more.

“The Center is truly a treasure!” says Sherrel Rieger, Program Specialist at the library.  “It has brought so much joy to our lives. While we relax in our seats, others are busy backstage making this experience the best ever!”

The Performing Arts Center on the campus of Kent State University Tuscampus was inaugurated in 2010. The PAC is dedicated to bringing first-class entertainment and education to the area. People from the Tuscarawas Valley and beyond come to be part of the excitement happening at the PAC. Over this past decade, people have enjoyed comedic acts, musicians, speakers, Broadway musicals and much more at this venue. The PAC is also the home of the Tuscarawas Philharmonic.

This program will begin at 6:30 PM on Monday, September 26 in the Community Room at the library, located at 525 N. Walnut Street, Dover.  Register online at or call the library at 330-343-6123.
