(Alliance, Ohio) – Marlington Local Schools will be offering two learning formats for
students.

Option 1:

Students will return to school in a traditional format, with appropriate safety measures, five days per week. We strongly believe the traditional school format is the best learning model for most students.

Option 2:

Students will enroll in our Duke Digital Academy using Acellus Learning Accelerator as a Remote Learning Option. This option is for families and students who are not able to or choose not to return to the traditional format at this time. It is important to note the following at this time:

• Marlington Local School officials explained they are committed to decreasing the likelihood of infection and keeping the community safe through additional hygiene, cleaning, and safety procedures. Included in the plan are additional safety precautions that will be in place. Please understand that being in a school environment is a public place and a certain level of risk cannot be eliminated.
• The school district, in cooperation with the Stark County Health Department, could elect at any time to return to fully Remote Learning Option if cases within the school (or county) begin to escalate to a severe risk level.
• Once families have chosen an option, this option shall remain in effect for a nine-week period for students in grades PK-5 and for a semester in grades 6-12.

“We are asking our families to declare which option works best for your situation by completing a google form for each child, according to the building in which they attend, by August 1, 2020,” officials added. The links for these forms can be found here.
