10 Hilarious Ways Moms Can Survive Overstimulation

10 Hilarious Ways Moms Can Survive Overstimulation – Did you know that humor gets us through the toughest times in life, including when WE’RE about to have a meltdown because of our needy kids? Check out these ten hilarious ways we can survive our children right here on Newsymom!

This informational campaign comes to you in partnership with the Stark County Community Action Agency.

Being a mom is a superhero job, but let’s face it – even superheroes need a break! Sometimes, life throws so much your way that you feel like you’re about to explode. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed and overstimulated in the midst of the chaos. The good news is, there are ways to not only survive but also thrive during those intense moments. So, grab a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine, no judgment here), and let’s dive into the top ten hilarious things us moms can do when we’re in the midst of being overstimulated!

  1. Embrace the Mom Cave: Imagine a place where there are no diapers to change, no toys to step on, and no tiny humans asking a million questions. It’s called the “Mom Cave.” Lock yourself in the bathroom for a few minutes, bring a book, and enjoy the tranquility.

  2. The Power of “Mom Eyes”: When things get too wild, channel your inner superhero and give your kids the notorious “Mom Eyes.” Those stern glares can stop a toddler tantrum in its tracks. Pair it with the deeper-than-normal “Warning Voice” and that should buy you at least ten minutes. (Hopefully.)

  3. Dance It Out: Sometimes, you just need to shake off the stress. Put on your favorite song and dance like nobody’s watching (except your kids, who will probably join in). Sing to your heart’s content for a bonus happy effect.

  4. Netflix and Hide: Introduce your little ones to the magical world of Netflix. Choose a kid-friendly show, set them up with snacks, and enjoy some guilt-free screen time for yourself.

  5. Call for Backup: Don’t be afraid to call in reinforcements! Reach out to a friend or family member and ask for help. You’d be surprised at how many people are willing to lend a hand when you’re feeling overwhelmed. (Grandma to the rescue!)

  6. Mommy Meditation: Find a quiet corner (yeah right), sit down, and take a few deep breaths. Try some mindfulness exercises to regain your composure and calm your racing thoughts. Apps like MamaZen can help pull you into focus.

  7. Embrace the Chaos: Sometimes, the only way to cope with overstimulation is to embrace it. Let your kids run around and be wild for a while. It’s all part of the parenting adventure. You can always “reset” after they burn off that Halloween candy sugar rush.

  8. Virtual Playdates: Connect with other moms online for virtual playdates. Let your kids interact with their friends while you have some adult conversation via video chat. It’s a win-win!

  9. Comedic Relief: Laughter is the best medicine. Watch a funny movie, read a hilarious book, or even follow some parenting humor accounts on social media to remind yourself that you’re not alone in this crazy journey.

  10. Treat Yourself: Every once in a while, give yourself a little treat. Whether it’s a piece of chocolate, a long bath, or a guilt-free online shopping spree, indulging yourself can work wonders.

Being a mom is undoubtedly one of the most rewarding and challenging roles in the world. When you find yourself in the midst of overstimulation, remember that it’s okay to take a step back and prioritize your well-being. Laugh at the chaos, dance through the tantrums, and know that you’re doing an amazing job.
