Exploring New Towne Mall With my Little Shopper!

I am a lifelong resident of New Philadelphia, so I’m very familiar with New Towne Mall. That said, visiting the mall as a mom sheds a whole new light on the experience!

On a random Thursday, after a full day of work (for me) and school, daycare, and dance class (for my daughter), we decided to spend our evening having a little fun. Madelyn and I pulled into the New Towne Mall parking lot with a mission: shop, play, eat. Fortunately for us, this mall has it all.

Sometimes you just want a break from routine, ya know? New Towne Mall offers a selection of shops, play spaces, and eateries for shoppers and their families. We explored and had a little fun before getting down to business.

Refresh: Winter Wardrobe

Our first stop was Daily Thread, just outside the food court area in the center of the mall. I had never been to this fashionable boutique before, but I was pleasantly surprised by the selection of casual, professional, and formal clothes. They were stocked with cozy sweaters & trendy fashion pieces- looks that are perfect for your next holiday party. I was immediately drawn in by an army green jacket; I couldn’t stop thinking about it. With a little encouragement from my helper, I decided to buy it! I nearly wore it right out of the store!

Shopping with a three-year-old can be a challenge, but tonight Madelyn was eager to help and happily chatted with all the friendly employees. One of our favorite parts about visiting New Towne Mall is all the smiling, friendly faces.

Next Up: Parties & Playtime!

I knew we were getting close to our “limit” (moms of toddlers know what I mean), but I had one more stop to make before we hit the play area.

Madelyn and I were granted a sneak peek at Towne Center Parties! This new, rentable space has been completely redesigned by Katie Maurer and is now open for parties and events! The space includes:

  • A recreation room for kids to play
  • Space to host team-building events
  • Flat-screen TV
  • Self-services cater bar & room to bring in food
  • Booking 7 days a week (not major holidays)
  • Hourly and half-day bookings available
  • Handicap accessible

You can book an event in this space HERE!

When we’d finished speaking with Katie, Madelyn and I made our way to the play area next to Campbell Creek Pretzels.

After letting me know she’s like cinnamon pretzels and lemonade, Madelyn peeled off her shoes and started climbing all over the enclosed play space. I enjoyed a warm cup of coffee while she scaled the play house, slid down the slides, and chased other children around the padded play zone. Nothing makes a mom happier than seeing her child smile AND burn off some pent-up energy.

When Madelyn had had enough and her tummy was grumbling for something sweet, she put her shoes back on and joined me for a pretzel snack. We bundled up in our jackets (and I snapped the tags off my new one!!) and said “goodbye” to New Towne Mall.

“Don’t worry!” Madelyn, chirped, “We’ll be back soon!”
