Feeling Lucky? Time for the MWCD Camper Lottery

Listen up, campers! The lottery is already underway! Below we’re breaking down information for returning and new campers hoping to change lots or get a spot at one of the beautiful MWCD lake parks!

Returning Campers

If you are a returning camper who wishes to change lots, you must sign up by calling the campground office beginning Monday, February 27 at 8:00 a.m. through Friday, March 3 at 12:00 p.m. Calls must be received by noon on March 3.

The lottery for CURRENT seasonal campers will be held on Saturday, March 4th at 9 a.m. This is for campers at Atwood, Charles Mill, Clendening, Piedmont, Pleasant Hill, Seneca, and Tappan Lake Campgrounds. The lottery for Leesville Lake Campground will be held at 1 p.m. Atwood Lake Park staff manages the campground at Leesville lake. To be added to the list for Leesville Lake, call Atwood Lake Park.

Lottery 1 for CURRENT Seasonal Campers will take place March 4th at 9 a.m.

  • Payments for current seasonal campers are due by Tuesday, February 28 at Noon
  • A list of campsites available in the first lottery will be available by Wednesday, March 1 at Noon

(If you are a current seasonal camper and do not want to change campsites, you do not need to participate in the lottery.)

New Campers

New seasonal campers who would like to participate in the lottery must sign up by calling the campground office between Monday, March 6 at 8:00 a.m. through Friday, March 10 at 12:00 p.m. Calls must be received by noon on March 10.

The lottery for NEW seasonal campers will be held on Saturday, March 11th at 9 a.m. This is for campers at Atwood, Charles Mill, Clendening, Piedmont, Pleasant Hill, Seneca, and Tappan Lake Campgrounds. Again, The lottery for Leesville Lake Campground will be held at 1 p.m. To be added to the list for Leesville Lake, call Atwood Lake Park.

Lottery 2 for New Seasonal Campers will take place March 11th at 9 a.m.

  • List of campsites available for the second lottery will be available by Monday, March 6 at Noon

The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District is responsible stewards dedicated to providing the benefits of flood reduction, conservation, and recreation in the Muskingum River Watershed. The MWCD is the largest conservancy district in the state and led the effort to construct 14 dams and reservoirs. The MWCD has jurisdiction for its operations in all or portions of an 18-county area. The 18 counties wholly or partially contained in the MWCD jurisdiction are Ashland, Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Holmes, Harrison, Knox, Licking, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Richland, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas, Wayne, and Washington.
