Deciding what to pack in a picnic basket can be tough. You want it to stay fresh, but you don’t want anything too bulky. Follow these tips for the perfect picnic in the park!
- Leave nothing behind! Make sure to pack up and remove any and all trash.
- Don’t forget the sunscreen and shade. It’s important to protect your skin and eyes when filling your tummy. Bring a pop-up tent or umbrella to block the strong mid-day rays. Even if you plan to picnic in the shade, packing sunscreen is essential. Pack some bug spray, too!
- Fruits and veggies are your friends. Watermelon, grapes, raspberries, celery, and carrots are great picnic snacks! These items can be brought along in a small basket or cooler and handle the temperatures while you lounge and snack.
- Avoid cold foods. Ice cream and popsicles are delicious, but they won’t be able to handle the summertime heat.
- Don’t forget the lawn games! Cornhole is large and bulky to bring along, but you can quickly set up and easily carry a game like ring toss, Kubb, or ladder ball.
