The Perfect Picnic at the Park

The weather has finally warmed up and the sunshine is likely calling your name! Pack a picnic basket and visit your local park!

Deciding what to pack in a picnic basket can be tough. You want it to stay fresh, but you don’t want anything too bulky. Follow these tips for the perfect picnic in the park!

  1. Leave nothing behind! Make sure to pack up and remove any and all trash.
  2. Don’t forget the sunscreen and shade. It’s important to protect your skin and eyes when filling your tummy. Bring a pop-up tent or umbrella to block the strong mid-day rays. Even if you plan to picnic in the shade, packing sunscreen is essential. Pack some bug spray, too!
  3. Fruits and veggies are your friends. Watermelon, grapes, raspberries, celery, and carrots are great picnic snacks! These items can be brought along in a small basket or cooler and handle the temperatures while you lounge and snack.
  4. Avoid cold foods. Ice cream and popsicles are delicious, but they won’t be able to handle the summertime heat.
  5. Don’t forget the lawn games! Cornhole is large and bulky to bring along, but you can quickly set up and easily carry a game like ring toss, Kubb, or ladder ball.

Now it’s time to gather up your family, invite some friends,
