If children and parents plan on venturing out for Halloween this year, trick-or-treating will likely be held simultaneously across the county.

Guidance has been released by the Ohio Health Department related to the yearly candy-collecting event, which includes alternatives to going from door-to-door.
However, many local municipalities still have their yearly events scheduled, with case totals still much lower than the state average.
New Philadelphia is one city that is moving forward, at this time, with the celebration, with Mayor Joel Day noting leaders are putting a plan in place that can help address coronavirus risks.
“If you plan to pass out candy, please leave your porch light on so the kids know. The mayors of Tuscarawas County are planning to have trick-or-treating on the same night, [October] 31st, in order to minimize travel between communities.”
New Philadelphia’s official trick-or-treat period is scheduled for that Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with full COVID safety measures posted on the city’s website and Facebook page.
