Tuscarawas County School Levy Results

All but one school-related levy on the May Primary ballot is approved by voters.

A small voter turnout on Tuesday, May 8th with just over 20% of voters casting a ballot.

Garaway Local Schools placed two levies before voters; Issue 2 was a request for a 3 mill, 10-year levy commencing in 2018, which would have been an additional levy to fund emergency requirements for the district, but voters turned it down by just 15 votes.

The district also asked voters to approve Issue 3, and they did by just 108 votes. The substitute, 5.8 mills, a continuous levy will be used for necessary requirements for the district.

New Philadelphia City Schools also saw voter support for a 5-year renewal levy that will be used for general operating costs. The 6.5 mill-levy is expected to generate $3 million annually for the district.
