(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – The Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities FANS (Friends, Allies, and Neighbors) Network is announcing a free summer movie night (Movie Time).
The event will be held online and will take place on July 31 from 6-8 pm. The Zoom link needed to attend Movie Time can be found on the TuscBDD Fans Network Facebook group page. Everyone in the community is invited, so gather up your goodies and FaceTime your friends to experience Lion King live-action film with one another at a distance.
FANS Movie Time will take place online via Zoom and YouTube Movie. “Viewers will have the option to use the chatbox within the Zoom or their own phone to communicate while they view the picture and audio through screen-share,” stated TuscBDD’s Community Relations and Special Projects Director, Kerri Silverthorn. “We are excited for this event because we know that everyone is missing one another, and we are working creatively to connect with each other to the best of our ability with the resources that we have in the safest way possible.”
The FANS Network is a local networking group for people with or without disabilities. The group seeks to increase inclusion within Tuscarawas County communities by hosting events and promoting community involvement. Typically, events take place in-person at local gathering places. “Due to COVID-19, we have moved all of our events to an online platform” expressed the FANS Network Administrative Assistant, Nicole Donant-Moore. “We are pretty good at adapting and knew that we could adapt to this to help people stay connected. We now have a virtual community on Facebook where we meet up every Friday for events and activities.”
TuscBDD encouraged all participants to follow safe COVID-19 practices during Virtual Movie Time; this includes social distancing and limiting contact with people outside of your home.
