Art has a special way of bringing people together. It helps us express ourselves and tell our stories.. but did you know it even supports our health and well-being? This year, the Tuscarawas County Health Department (TCHD) is excited to invite residents of all ages to take part in their Art Competition—a creative opportunity to showcase your talent while celebrating our community.
Art Matters!
Research shows that engaging in the arts can support both mental and emotional health. Creating or viewing art can help reduce stress, boost mood, encourage connection, and give people a meaningful way to express thoughts and feelings that may be hard to put into words. Art can also strengthen community bonds by helping us see shared experiences and perspectives reflected on canvas.
Whether you’re painting, drawing, or creating mixed media, your artwork can inspire others and contribute to a healthier, more connected community.
