There is no handbook for parenting, but there IS a vaccine chart when it comes to keeping kids healthy and up-to-date.
This is Public Health is brought to you in partnership with the Tuscarawas County Health Department.
Vaccinations are recommended to protect children from diseases that once sparked fear in the hearts of parents. Polio, measles, and hepatitis can all be prevented with the help of vaccines. By keeping your kids (0-10 years old) up to date on vaccines, you can help them ward off 15 different preventable illnesses.
The chart below gives general guidelines on what and when to give children their vaccinations:
Before your child starts the school year, make it a priority to get them vaccinated.
The Tuscarawas County Health Department is having a drive-up Back to School Vaccine Clinic. Without leaving your vehicle, you can get your 7th grader or 12th grader vaccinated and ready to start the school year.
