The Haunted Forest Marathon – A Spooktacular Festival of Races!
Enjoy a HEAVILY themed Marathon, Half Marathon, or 5K on a super fast and flat course. Lookout for ghosts and goblins that may appear on the course!
Date – Sunday, October 31st 2021
Races
26.Boo Marathon – Run along the Ohio & Erie Canal on the Towpath Trail – a mixture of hard crushed limestone and small sections of blacktop. Aid stations every 2 miles. A great way to leverage your Fall Marathon Training for a second chance at a PR.
Haunted Half Marathon – Stays with the 26.Boo Marathoners for 13 miles. Another chance to leverage that Fall Training fitness or use it for a PR.
Frantic Five Kilometer – Starts 15 minutes after the Marathon / Half Marathon and runs through Downtown Canal Fulton before finishing on the Towpath Trail. Look for candy stops along the way!
All events will run on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail and the Olde Muskingum Trail.
St. Helena Heritage Park will serve as the Start, Finish, and Festival site in Canal Fulton Ohio.
Start Times: 26.2 / 13.1 – 8:00am, 5K – 8:15am
High quality event shirts, a fantastic finisher medal, and a spooky post-race party will make this one to remember!
Leverage Your Fall Fitness
We have specifically selected this date as your “second chance” to run a PR. We fully support the Marathons and Half Marathons that come before us in September and October. We just want you to have fun and take advantage of your fitness. Great choice as your Fall Marathon as well.
FAST, FLAT, and AFFORDABLE
We know you’ve heard that before! Well…in our case it is true. The total elevation for the Full Marathon is 59 feet. The total elevation for the Half Marathon is 40 feet. We are unique not only with our theme but with our course and price!
9 Lives Challenge
We are partnering with Stark Board of Developmental Disabilities Great Pumpkin Race 4 Miler, which is run the day before in Canton. Those who complete BOTH the Great Pumpkin 4 Miler AND the ANY of the Sunday distances will receive a special 9 LIVES CHALLENGE MEDAL.

THE COURSE
The Marathon will be a USATF Certified Course and a Boston Marathon Qualifier.
The Half Marathon will stay with the Marathon for the first 13 miles. It is a mix of blacktop and hard packed crushed limestone.
The 5K will be a fun route through Downtown Canal Fulton

We are planning a great post-race Halloween Party in Downtown Canal Fulton with Food, Beer, and Music!

Race Expo will be inside of a family friendly Haunted House!
The Event will be part of several activities in Canal Fulton in October. More details coming this Summer.
The course will be decorated with lots of Halloween elements. We WILL NOT be jumping out of the woods to scare you. It is a race!
SWAG
All participants get a GREAT finisher medal, a super cool event shirt, and the best post-race party in Ohio.
The event is a fundraiser for the Canal Boat.
