(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Ohio has been active in Tuscarawas and Carrol Counties since 1973.
BBBS is passionate about helping all kids reach their full potential, and this is displayed through the investment of time, resources, and effort inside and outside of the organization’s programs. In addition to running the school-based and community-based mentoring programs, the East Central Ohio staff forge deep connections within our community to improve the well-being of not only the families we serve, but also the community at large.
The staff working at the BBBS agency are dedicated to connecting our Bigs, Littles, and Parent/Guardians with resources available in our community and invest in developing the support that may be lacking. Every staff member is involved with different community partners, and volunteers where their talents and experience are most beneficial.
During a typical week, the 6-person staff at BBBS can be found sitting on boards, serving on committees, providing training, and coordinating volunteers in addition to their agency-specific roles. While the staff discussed their various community connections, it became clear that presenting an exhaustive list would consume this entire article. Presented below is a small selection of how the BBBS staff engage in community participation.
