I know you probably hear it all the time. You need to make time for yourself. Have some “me time”. And we all think, easier said then done, right?
But here is the crazy thing! It really does help keep you sane! Like no joke mommas! If you get in the routine of daily self love acts you will see a big difference in not only yourself but those around you. Because when momma is happy then things just run smoother.
If I’m being completely honest with you, I have not always been on this “self love train”. Seriously I was the one that was thinking, who has time for that? You want me to do what? When and where? Are these people that come up with this stuff even moms? Do they really understand that there is no time in the day to do such “silly” things?
Those “silly” things are now part of my daily routine. And looking back the only thing I regret is not starting them sooner! I’ve seen a big change in my energy, my attitude, my happiness, and my overall well being! And I’m not the only one that notices it. So many good things all around!
So I wanted to share a few of my favorite self love, self care acts that I try to incorporate into my daily routine. Not every day is the exact same as I like to mix it up a bit. But I do try to incorporate all the below into my day at some point.
Gratitude Journal: Simply writing down at least 3 things daily that you are thankful for. Do this in the beginning of your day to get your day off to a great start! This can be jotted down on paper in a notebook or they do have gratitude journals available. I currently use the, Good Days Start with Gratitude Journal. (Found on Amazon)
Prayer Journal: Same concept as the Gratitude journal but you’ll jot down some prayer requests, and praises. I always spend at least 5-10min on this one when I can of course and pull out the Bible and just start reading. I found a journal on Amazon that I love!

Self affirmations: This one is a biggie! And also somewhat awkward at first I’ll admit. Pick out 3-5 self affirmations and say them every single morning! It’s best to look at yourself in the mirror and say them. Yes, I’m asking you to talk to yourself. Stick with me here. Things like, I am worthy, I am capable of amazing things, I am a great mom, I’m brave enough to climb any mountain. I could go on forever with these ones. But the point of this is once you keep saying these things to yourself you’ll start believing them a little more each day.
Personal development: Now this can be a book or audio form. Some people look at self help books and compare them to personal development books. And I see two totally different types of books. My readings always help me to dig a little deeper and help to understand the true meaning of one self. You can choose one that is particular to where you are right now or where you want to be. Some of my favorites are, 100 Days to Brave by Annie Downs, Girl Stop Apologizing and Girl Wash Your Face, both by the lovely Rachel Hollis.

Health and fitness: Take the time, your body deserves it, to be mindful of your food and well being. Find a plan that works best for you and stick to it. Working out gets those happy endorphins flowing and you just feel better once it’s done. Now I know that’s not always easy. I’m not a fan of working out myself but I know that it’s good for me and I love the way it makes me feel. I want to continue to be a strong mommy for my kids and set good examples as well.
I hope you have gotten at least a little something out of this. Maybe you are already doing all the above? That’s awesome! Kudos to you momma! Maybe you haven’t started any self love or self care acts yet. Now is your time girl!
I’d love to hear what it is you do for self care. Your “mommy time”. Or which of the above are you willing to give a try and start adding to your daily routine? Drop me a comment and share!
