(Canton, Ohio) – ArtsInStark is announcing plans to bring First Friday back to downtown Canton.

Reports indicate the organization has announced that activities will be socially distanced and the event will utilize a larger area than past events. The event will mostly take place along Fourth Street NW and Court Avenue NW in downtown Canton. Like many events across the state, the monthly celebration that included music, food, drinks, and other entertainment, has been operating online since April due to the COVID-19 health pandemic.

But, it’s coming back in July. The July theme will be “Chalk the Walk.” Solo musicians will be on various street corners along with 21 chalk artists, 24 vendor booths, and five food trucks. The organization is working with Canton Public Health to ensure the event is safe. Officials are encouraging the use of face coverings and there will be some available for those who may not have them or who may want them during the event. However, officials note they are not required.
