3 outdoor activities to do with the family in Ashland County this weekend!

(Ashland, Ohio) – Looking to get out of the house this weekend, but stay close to home?

We are all feeling the effects of being cooped up for months, and many are still hesitant to go out and do anything with ongoing health concerns. But, Ashland County, Ohio has a plethora of activities you can enjoy with your family while staying socially distant and close to home.

1.) Enjoy the Brookside Mountain Bike Trail

Brookside MTB Trail is a product of a partnership of Ashland Bike Company and the City of Ashland, Ohio. The trailhead is located at Brookside West and offers a serene and relaxing experience with a beautiful nature view the whole way.

2.) Honey Haven Farms

This attraction sells produce fresh-picked from their own gardens: tomatoes, hot and sweet peppers, onions, beets, cucumbers, zucchini, squash, lettuce, cabbage, potatoes, cantaloupes, watermelons, and sweet corn, among other things. Additionally, you’ll find a 20′ X 96′ greenhouse where you can get hanging baskets, planters, and flats of vegetables and flowers.


In the fall guests can enjoy picking their own pumpkins and several corn mazes in addition to a petting zoo, seasonal country store, and more.

3.) Mohican State Park

Mohican State Park and the adjacent State Forest are located in the heart of Mohican Country… Ohio’s great vacation region. The park is comprised of 1,110 acres with 5 miles of the scenic Clear Fork Branch of the Mohican River running through it. The recreational opportunities available to the park visitor include fishing, hiking, picnicking, camping, cottages, and a resort lodge. The Mohican-Memorial State Forest surrounds the park with 4795 acres.  Hunting, hiking, and bridle trails are available to the forest visitor.


Mohican State Park is located in southern Ashland County bordered by State Routes 3 and 97, close to Loudonville, Ohio.  The park can be easily accessed from Interstate 71.
