There is a lot that goes on during the month of April for our teens and youth, are any of them feeling stressed? There are many reasons why a youth could be feeling overwhelmed, especially during prom, graduation, thinking about college, and trying to find a summer job. Read on to learn more about reasons our teens may be feeling stressed and a unique way to support them as they work through coping with their stressors.
Healthy Tip Tuesday is brought to you in partnership with Trinity Health Systems.
What are some causes of stress to look for when it comes to teens?
- Social media
- School
- Local and national news. How does one process life events going on when their brains aren’t fully developed.
- Listening to the struggles of their peers
Everything can get jumbled up into negative emotions, and it can be hard to find positives things in daily life. But what if everyone came together to practice looking for the positive?
We recently have had a lot of rainy days, and there isn’t a lot to do on those types of days. Come together as a family and try this Stress Buster Bingo from the On Our Sleeves movement to help reduce stress. As a family, it can be done in five minutes or more, and maybe give a reward or treat depending on the age of the youth playing the game.
