Art on the Alley New Date- Tuscarawas County

May 1st’s Art on the Alley has been Rescheduled to Sunday, May 15th due to the predicted forecast for New Philadelphia.

With the forecast of all-day thunderstorms and severe rain, Art on the Alley has been rescheduled from this coming Sunday, May 1st to Sunday, May 15th from 12:00 – 5:00 PM. While Art on the Alley is a rain or shine festival, the chance of thunderstorms shifts the focus to the safety of vendors and attendees.  Vendors and participants have been contacted regarding this change with the majority of participants looking forward to attending Art on the Alley on May 15th. 

Art on the Alley will remain at its location on Sunday, May 15th in Downtown New Philadelphia along the alleyways of Ashwood Lane and 1st Drive NW and SW. The event will run from 12:00 – 5:00 PM. Follow Art on the Alley’s Facebook and Instagram pages as well as the website to see the latest.

What activities can you expect at May 15th’s Art on the Alley!
  • At Fresh the Market, you’ll find artisan food samplings, music by Dan Gribble, and demonstrations by Six Buckets Farm and the Garden Gurl!
  • At Alley Cats Marketplace, you will see live painting by Tony Contini, and hear music from the NPHS Guitar Ensemble, Nick Bonner and 1 Man Band!
  • Also, join Alley Cats and Art & Soul Gallery for a fun Artagain Alley Scavenger Hunt!
  • Enjoy these activities and visit over 150 artisans inside and out!

This year’s Art on the Alley aims to continue celebrating arts and culture in the alleys of Downtown New Philadelphia, but this year the excitement reaches a new level as the event celebrates Art on the Alley’s 5th anniversary! Just like in previous years, artists will be posted along Ashwood Lane and 1st Drive NW and SW demonstrating their work and selling original works of art. This year, the event’s footprint is expanding across Fair Avenue to include space by the Tuscarawas County Public Library. Local nonprofits will be providing creative activities for kids, and food trucks will be available to provide savory and sweet foods.

Live entertainment at the North Stage located beside Museum Acrylics will be organized by Chetsville Live which includes the Kodachrome Babies, and Hunter Skeens and His Forerunners. The South Stage will feature performances by local students. In Alley Cats Marketplace, there will be scheduled entertainment that includes live painting by Tony Contini, music by the New Philadelphia High School Guitar Ensemble and Nick Bonner. An Artagain Alley Scavenger Hunt will be coordinated by Alley Cats Marketplace and Art & Soul Gallery. Fresh the Market will have scheduled activities including artisan food tastings, music by Dan Gribble, demonstrations by Six Buckets Farm and garden presentation by Garden Girl. STEAM Center and Tuscarawas County Public Library Main Branch will have activities for kids including sensory play and making party hats.
