(Ashland, Ohio) – The annual Ashland Rotary Club sponsored fireworks display will take place this year.
Ashland City Mayor, Matt Miller, joined the current Ashland Rotary Club President, Mitch Piskur, and upcoming Ashland Rotary Club President, Ted Daniels in a video published to the Ashland City Rotary Club Facebook page to make the announcement.
The rotary club encouraged community members to help make the celebration possible by making donations at ashlandrotary.net. “We want to make this happen for the community, and we’re excited about this,” explained Piskur. Daniels added, “the message is that we’re going to have fireworks, but we’re going to do it safely.”
Daniels indicated event organizers will follow social distancing guidelines and take every precaution necessary while encouraging spectators to do the same. “We are going to stay in constant contact with city officials, with state officials and the health department to see if the situation changes.”
Officials indicated the fireworks display will take place on Saturday, July 4th and if it rains the display will be moved to Sunday, July 5th. “Now more than ever is a time to celebrate our great freedom in this country, and hopefully that evening we’re able to highlight both our veterans as well as our first responders who have served us with such dedication during these uncertain times,” added Mayor Miller.
A specific location was not announced during the video, but more information and updates can be viewed by visiting the Ashland Rotary ClubFacebook page.
