(Ohio) – A new system is in place that lets you track your third stimulus check.
Sooner than expected, the IRS stimulus check tracker is now live with some payments e letter over this past weekend. You can now track yours using the online portal.
The “Get My Payment” tool on the IRS.gov website launched over the weekend and can help track your payments. The $1.9 trillion rescue package was signed by President Joe Biden last week. The package includes payments to qualifying individuals of up to $1,400, including children.
The latest relief payments will provide households with $1,400 for each adult, child and adult dependent, such as college students or elderly relatives. The payments start declining for an individual once adjusted gross income exceeds $75,000 and go to zero once income hits $80,000. The payment starts declining for married couples when income exceeds $150,000 and goes to zero at $160,000.
Additionally, for those whose incomes were affected due to the COVID-19 shutdown last year, it is expected that the IRS will adjust the size of the new impact payments after the 2020 return has been filed and provide a supplemental payment should it be called for.
It is expected that 85% of Americans will be eligible for the payments and officials noted a goal to have millions of the payments disbursed in the next few weeks. Those who have provided their bank information to the ITS will receive direct deposit payments and others will receive paper checks or debit cards.
