The adventure comes to life when the train departs for a round-trip journey to the North Pole led by a cast of talented local volunteers. Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, passengers will relive the magic of the classic story as they are whisked away on THE POLAR EXPRESS™ for a ninety-minute round trip to meet Santa. Once on board, the conductor will work his way through the coach and punch golden tickets before hot chocolate and a delicious cookie are served by dancing chefs. Passengers then read along with the classic children’s book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg. Santa and his helpers board the train to greet passengers and each child is given the first gift of Christmas. During the trip, characters on each car lead fantastic onboard entertainment – just like in the film! Each guest will take home a souvenir golden ticket in addition to the wonderful memories made on this magical trip. Just like the kids in the book, families are encouraged to wear their pajamas for the ride!
While here for THE POLAR EXPRESSTM there is so much to do! Including local eateries, downtown shopping, and local craft vendors set up across the street. There are endless photo opportunities around the Depot and on the train to capture your magical family moments. About Dennison Railroad Depot Museum
The Dennison Railroad Depot Museum sits halfway between Columbus and Pittsburgh and on the National Defense Railway route. Over 1.3 million servicemen were served at a trackside canteen during WWII. That is how Dennison got the nickname Dreamsville, USA with its friendly service offering a free cup of coffee and a sandwich to all the soldiers who passed through. Today, the museum offers a fully restored Depot that was built in 1873, an extremely rare WWII Hospital car, a model train display, and more! Be sure to visit the museum to hear all of the stories and memories created here.
