East Canton School Donate Food to Those in Need

Once again, students and staff of East Canton Schools participated in a food collection drive called “Stuff the Turkey.”

The fundraising event took place from October 12th – November 9th.

Officials note that during that time, all three buildings worked to collect things such as gravy, broth, pudding cups, fruit, potatoes, breakfast and granola bars, applesauce, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, crackers, cake mixes, frosting and more.

This year they were able to collect 110 bags of food in total. East Canton Schools then partnered with East Canton Community Cupboard, who distributed the packaged boxes of food to families in the community for Thanksgiving.

Students also competed to bring in the most food per building and the winner was East Canton Elementary with more than 80 bags of food collected.

Officials note the food drive allowed students to help provide for their peers and community members while learning about kindness and helping others around them.

Mr. Kashdan of K&K Plumbing was also recognized by officials for his generous donation of 40 baskets of food.
