Easter Bunny to Visit Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District

Create new memories this Easter as the Bunny visits campsites throughout the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District campgrounds.

Celebrate a Memorable & Exciting Easter on the 3rd weekend of seasonal camping at one of MWCD’s Lake Parks this April.

Relax on your campsite this Easter and celebrate the fun that awaits at MWCD campgrounds!  The Easter Bunny will be visiting the campsites throughout the weekend and there will be crafts and egg hunts!

Pleasant Hill Lake Park Egg Hunt

Toddlers will love this Easter Egg Coding activity.Over 6,000 plastic candy-filled Easter Eggs will be hidden in the fields and woods near Shelterhouse #2.

  • The Hunt starts promptly at 12:00 noon.
  • Kids will be released by age in selected areas.
  • This is a FREE event for children 12 and under.

Easter Weekend at Charles Mill Lake Park

  • Easter Bingo Games with prizes for all ages!
  • Easter Egg hunt for tots, kids, teens and adults!
  • Mr. Bunny BookWalk (walk around the Bunny Storybook lane & get a treat from Mr. Bunny)
  • Easter Crafts!
  • Easter Movie night with popcorn and drinks!

Easter Weekend at Seneca Lake Park

  • Spot with the Easter bunny traveling throughout the campground and snag a photo and treat from him!
  • Easter Egg Hunt for children  3-13 years old!
  • Easter Egg Hunt for leashed dogs too!

Easter Weekend at Atwood Lake Park

Traveling Easter Bunny – Keep an eye out for our Easter Bunny traveling throughout the campground! Have your camera ready to capture fun memories with friends!

  • Easter Egg Hunt for children 3-13 as well as leashed dogs!
  • Kids Easter Ornament Craft

Easter Weekend at Tappan Lake Park

  • Visit with the Traveling Easter Bunny!  He’ll be riding on a golf cart, capture a photo and treat from him!
  • Egg Hunt for children 3-13 and for leashed dogs!
  • Family Craft (Easter Egg Door Hanger)
  • Earth Clean Up!

Earth Day Cleanup Challenge

Along with Easter festivities, there is the Earth Day Cleanup Challenge #MWCDEarthDay2022 with a chance to earn one FREE night camping if you complete the Challenge on April 16th – 24th! There is a limit of one coupon per household.  Family Fun at Atwood LakeHow to earn a coupon for 1 night of FREE Camping?

  • Fill your trash bag up and bring it to the listed location during the indicated hours to pick up your coupon.

Can’t attend on Easter Weekend?

  • No problem!
  • Visit the lake anytime between Saturday, April 16 through Sunday, April 24 to fill a bag with litter.
  • Post photos of your cleanup to the MWCD Facebook or Instagram pages using #MWCDEarthDay2022 
  • You’ll be entered into a drawing for a cooler filled with MWCD prizes, including a gift certificate.

Ideas for Family Camp Fun on Easter Weekend

Create Easter tokens of remembrance from camping at one of MWCD’s campgrounds with their many events and create some of your own:

  • Nature Collage (Bring paper plates and a glue stick, and create as many nature murals from items found on the ground as possible)!
  • Nature Scavenger Hunt (Easy, Medium, Hard)
  • Pet Rock Decorating (Paint rocks, or paint 1 rock and hide it in a pile of rocks and play find the painted rock, or try to stack and build with rocks)
  • Nature Tic-Tac-Toe (Create a board with sticks and pick 2 different markers to play)
  • Hide mini glow sticks in Easter eggs
  • Hiking & Biking
  • Fishing
  • Boating
  • Geocaching

Looking Ahead

  • Ohio Boater Education Course. There are many ways to complete the course – online, home study, or in-person classes. MWCD Rangers will be offering in-person courses at  Pleasant Hill: on April 30. Register HERE
  • May will bring flowers and the start of regular weekend programs at Atwood, Charles Mill, Pleasant Hill, Seneca, and Tappan Lake Parks. These programs will include a variety of crafts, sporting events, socials, nature education, and live music.

Responsible stewards dedicated to providing the benefits of flood reduction, conservation and recreation in the Muskingum River Watershed. The MWCD is the largest conservancy district in the state and led the effort to construct 14 dams and reservoirs. The MWCD has jurisdiction for its operations in all or portions of an 18-county area. The 18 counties wholly or partially contained in the MWCD jurisdiction are Ashland, Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Holmes, Harrison, Knox, Licking, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Richland, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas, Wayne, and Washington.
