Fair Royalty: Tuscarawas County Fair Queen
Being fair royalty is an honor for local 4-H youth. One that comes with great responsibility. Beyond a sense of responsibility, the Tuscarawas County Fair Queen- Bri Burdette, displays passion, sportsmanship and a love for the history of our fair.
Born Into the Passion
To our Tuscarawas County Fair Queen, the fair grounds have always been like a second home. Bri’s history with the fair dates back generations. Decades ago, Bri’s great grandparents, Isla and Henry, spent time working together at The Clover Cafe (then “The Grange”). Following the couple that started it all has been three more generations of fair lovers. Bri grew up around the fair and learning about 4-H. With dreams of being just like her dad, who showed sheep during his day in 4-H , she started showing market lambs at 9 years old. Now Bri shows sheep and hogs. She even took on a sheep breeding project this year!

What Does The Queen Do?
Being fair royalty comes with many responsibilities such as..
- Represent Tuscarawas County and the County Fair everywhere she goes.
- Attending events such as luncheons and parades.
- Showing support to her peers.
- Promoting the fair.
Bri is passionate about the history of Tuscarawas County fair and how special that history makes it. She wishes for people to know how great the fairgrounds, and the people associated with it, really are.
“Whether it is to queen events such as luncheons or parades, traveling to other county fairs, or just talking to someone, I am always trying to promote our fairgrounds!”- Bri
Honorable Sportsmanship & Love For Her Community
Bri can usually be found in the livestock barns, weaving in and out of all of the different species’ barns. Trying to be available to lend a helping hand to anyone who may need it. Her true sense of sportsmanship was shining bright when she told me that her favorite day to be a part of is the market livestock sale. On this day, she gets to witness all of her peers’ success as they sell the livestock that they worked so hard to raise.
Bri Burdette, the 2023 Tuscarawas County fair queen is an outstanding ambassador for our county’s youth. She embodies kindness and sportsmanship and serves as a beacon of support for her peers while demonstrating a passion for the fair and its history.

Requirements For Royalty
- Candidates must be a member of a 4-H club or FFA Chapter and eligible to exhibit at the Tuscarawas County Fair. Applications are available on the Tuscarawas County Fair website and must be e-mailed to wendyvogel.fair@gmail.com by August 7 of the current year at 11:59 p.m..
- Applicants must be 16-19 years of age (as of January 1).
- The King and Queen will be selected through a combined application and interview process.
- The reigning King and Queen must be present to preside over the remaining days of the fair and be present at judging and contests.
- The reigning Queen at the Tuscarawas County Fair shall be eligible to compete in the Queen Contest at the 2025 Ohio Fair Managers Conference.
