Juveniles Arrested For Social Media Posts

Two Stark County teenagers are facing charges after law enforcement officials say they made posts to social media in a way to alarm others.

According to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office deputies received two separate reports on Friday, February 16th involving alarming social media posts.

On incident involved a 15-year-old who reportedly posted a photo of himself with a weapon on social media.

The second incident involved a 17-year-old who reportedly posted a video of himself with several weapons on social media.

Both individuals received a summons to appear for disorderly conduct.

Stark County Sheriff George T. Maier issued a statement following the arrests, “We have no tolerance for this kind of behavior,” he said. “There will be no leniency for individuals who indicate they may cause harm to another person.”

Investigators noted both incidents were isolated and completely unrelated to one another or to anything else in the county.
