All public libraries in Tuscarawas County are currently accepting submissions for the Kindness Poster Contest, which is part of programming for this year’s One Book, One Community initiative.
This year’s “One Book” title, Wonder, by RJ Palacio, tells the story of a young boy named Auggie and the struggles he faces due to having an abnormal facial structure.
Being kind is reinforced throughout the book. The contest is open to all students through grade 12.
Submissions must be in a landscape format and be between 11″x17″ and 15″ x 20″ in size, with the name and phone number of the artist written on the back. Entries are due by 5:00 PM on September 23.
16 posters will be chosen to be featured in Dover Public Library’s StoryWalk®, located around the pond at Dover City Park during the first two weeks of October (National Bullying Prevention Month).
The posters do not have to mention Wonder, they just need to focus on kindness.
Winners will be contacted by phone by October 1. For more information, please contact the Dover Public Library at 330-343-6123.
