Make Your Beginning a Safe Beginning

No parent has the same type or amount of support as other parents. We’re all doing the best we can.

This is Public Health is brought to you in partnership with the Tuscarawas County Health Department.

Moms need a support system. More than 50% of moms say that the role of primary caregiver always falls to them. While grandparents, friends, mentors, and teachers can help support moms and dads, sometimes additional support is needed.

The Tuscarawas County Health Department provides the Safe Beginnings program, available for qualifying families.

Eligibility

Please note, “Families eligible for this program must have an income level within 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. A family of four (including an unborn child) with a gross income (before taxes) at or below $52,400 annually, or $4,367 monthly would qualify.” Also, participants cannot have an open or substantiated case of child abuse against them.

  • Toddler bed & mattress
  • Stroller
  • Highchair
  • Safety gate & home childproofing kit
  • Baby monitor
  • Smoke alarm/carbon monoxide monitor
